are assumed to represent an early stage in mineralisation while the rock-forming minerals, forsterite, plagioclase, magnetite, and augite, were formed during the main stage of crystallisation. Hydrothermal and autopneumatolitic minerals are linked to blister cavities, blow holes and vesicles. The first type usually contains rock­forming miner-als (plagioclase, augite, biotite and magnetite) whereas in the second type carbonates (aragonite, calcite) occur together with zeolites (phillipsite, analcime, offretite; Fig. 43). Rock inclusions have a mineral assemblage of their own depending on the original rock­type. Large, several cm long kaersutite and anorthoclase crystals were found in many quarries as well as unusually large, centimeters long, crystals of apatite which are otherwise very rare in Hungary. Some basaltic tuffs, as at Eresztvény, contain well developed crystals of forsterite and augite.
