Szakáll Sándor - Jánosi Melinda: Minerals of Hungary (Topographia Mineralogica Hungariae 4. Miskolc, 1996)
2. The golden age (1860-1920) József Szabó and József Krenner (Fig. 4) in particular throughout their career made a point of treating systematically the minerals of Hungarian localities. In the meantime ACKNER's monograph on Transylvanian minerals came out (1855). However the credit for the first mineralogical topography which enumerates minerals of the entire Hungary goes to an Austrian mineralogist. The work of VICTOR VON ZEPHAROVICH saw several editions - (1859, 1873, 1893) - reviews the minerals of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy one by one. This ambitious work gave more information on Hungarian minerals than any previous one and gained these mostly from foreign authors.
