Other minerals of axinite mineralization Albite, NaAlSi308, a mineral from the feldspar group, is abundant especially in metabasalt and is present in the form of white crystals on the rims of thin veinlets of calcite (Fig. 9). On veinlets albite is euhedral to subhedral. In metamorphic rocks, where albite occurs together with epidote, main mineral is anhedral, less frequently subhedral. It is genetically the oldest mineral on the veins. On calcite veinlets albite is hydrothermal and it is calcium-free (according to EDS spectra), metamorphosed albite in metabasalt is characterised by low concentration of calcium (less than 1 wt. %). This difference is clearly visible on the BSE images, where the hydrothermal albite from veins is darker than the rock-forming altered albite (Fig. 9). Fluorapatite, Ca5(P04)3F, is a relatively scarce mineral in the metabasalt. It usually forms individual anhedral and rounded grains up to 0.25 mm (Fig. 10) in association with albite, epidote, clinochlore and calcite. Less frequently, fluorapatite has weak chemical Fig. 9.
