CONTENTS In this issue we publish the results of research hitherto unknown from a wide range of scihce concerning the history of Borsod-county and Miskolc. In connection with the Unesco year Leszih Andor's posthumous writing is published on the relation of our Museum and the natural scientist Ottó Herman, (p. 2). We may read three articles in archeoiogical line. One is about the neolitic research at Korlát, nother about an important urn-find of antropomorphic character (p. 14), and the third about the finds of Avar-age in the outskirts of Sajószentpéter community (p. 15). Three items have an ethnographical bearing. One deals with the recording of folk-tunes and the custom of so called dawn-burning here and there still existing (p. 23). There is a communication (p. 29) of a razor-case with mirror, a fine piece of folkart with inlaid work found at Ároktő dating from ,1844. A third article — by a co-worker in Chechslovakia — describes comparatively the shapes of agricultural tools ' in Northern Hungary (p. 35). A topographical treatise (p. 42) analyses , the significance of the year 1365, the supposed year of Miskolc getting the priviledges of an Oppidum. An essay contributes to the history of literature giving local data to the life óf Margit Kaffka, the greatest Hungarian woman-writer (p. 46). An account is given of the disappeared St. Paul cloister, a work of . art (p. 49). ' The first fine arts exhibition of Miskolc (p. 53) was a valuable attempt to establish and promote artistic culture. The building of the hospital complex in Szentpéteri kapu, Miskolc is a fine achievement of modern architecture (p. 54). The view of main buildings may be seen on the coloured cover. The movement of building workers in 1907 is reported in an article (p. 59). A new group of voluntary activists in the Museum collects the contemporary documents from 1963 (p. 61). On the last pege (p. 64) a Viennese lithography from 1859 shows the picture of the first railway station in Miskolc.
