Történettudomány - Kiss Gábor Iván: A Hollóházi Keménycserépgyár első periódusának (1831-1918) edényjegyei, különös tekintettel a korban első, eddig ismeretlen jelzésre
A Hollóházi Keménycserépgyár első periódusának (1831—1918) edényjegyei... 267 STAMPS OF THE FIRST PERIOD (1831-1918) OF THE EARTHENWARE FACTORY OF HOLLÓHÁZA WITH SPECIAL REGARD TO THE FIRST STAMP UNKNOWN UNTIL NOW Keywords: earthenware, stamp, manufactory, fancy bowl, rustic plate The earthenware manufactory of Hollóháza was established around 1831. It is an imposing date, because most probably it is the most ancient Hungarian industrial plant working practically according to its original function. The survey of the stamps until now leaves much room for improvement, many stamps are not referred to at all, there is no data of the size of the stamps and of the technique of their preparation either. The goal of this study is to make easier the identification of the products — which we can come upon even today — originating from the period preceding the time of nationalization. The study presents the basic and complementary marks of the first nine decades and based on analogies gives definition of their period. Especially by defining the first applied mark we can get knowledge of the unidentified objects, of the artistic inspirations of the first decades. There are 8 different pressed and 2 rubber stamped basic marks and 2 complementary marks identified originating from the time of establishment of the earthenware factory of Hollóháza until the time of temporary termination of the production (1831—1918). Beside the two outstanding, internationally recognized Hungarian earthenware and chinaware factories (Herend and Zsolnay) the performance and achievements of the factory of Hollóháza remains unfairly in the background. The present study will contribute to the better recognition of the variegation and the artistic trend of the products of Hollóháza. [Translated by the author] Kiss, Gábor Iván
