these regions. He coUected samples using various techniques (beating, sweeping, trapping). The cicadas coUected during the fieldwork were examined by András Orosz of the Museum of Natural Sciences. The ca. 2500 specimens representing 189 species were deposited in the collection of the Kazinczy Ferenc Museum in Sátoraljaújhely. Based on the samples evaluated until 2006 and the results of earlier research, András Orosz reád a paper at the First Conference of Zemplén Studies held in Tokaj. A list of the species from the Abaúj and Zemplén regions (Bodrogköz, Taktaköz, Zemplén Mountains) has already been published (OROSZ and HEGYESSY 2006). In addition to the specimens coUected locally, the museum's collection includes alsó species from other regions of Hungary. The data of the latter are alsó published in this study.
