DOBRIK István: Fotó-grafika, grafika-fotó

FOTÓ-GRAFIKA, GRAFIKA-FOTÓ 199 PHOTO/GRAPHICS — GRAPHICS/PHOTO (Abstract) Graphics, as an independent genre, is playing an important role in the 20th c. art, due to its fast reactions. Photography, with its great influence on the whole of our visual culture, is still not unanimously taken into the frames of fine art. The present study examins the interrelation of the two expressional structures, their mutual possibilities and theoretical approaches. The first part gives a sketch of the historically bound relationship of fine art and photogryahy. The dialectical interrelation of the two plain depicting genres, photography and fine art, is examined with special view on specifities of the two branches. The next parts call attention to the photographic elements appearin in graphics, and, vice versa, to graphical means present in photography, both as subject bearing items and as technical means. The study points out the grantedness of interrelations and the wide range of possibilities coming from their ways of expression, as provided by the conformity of the visual expressional structures.
