In 1965 Vera Molnár, an archeologist outlined the constructional history of the church on the basis of her excavation. In her opinion beside the rotunda of the 12

th с was enclosed by the recently excavated churchyard-wall. The excavations resumed in 1968 give further detaile about the history of the church. The churchyard-wall was built at teh beginning of the 14

th с as it is shown by the lime-kiln found under it. We have dug up two churchyard-gates: one in the southern side and one in the south-western corner. The earliest of the excavated graves dates back to the relation between the lower layer of graves and the tombs of the 14

th с was also found near the rotunda. There we found a terracotta fragment of a status of the 15

th с It is the head of a female saint of „beautiful Madonna" type. Its analogies can be found mainly in Austria, Germany and Czechoslovakia. The pit of 3 lime-kilns were unearthed south of the big, from the 17
