An Interieurfrom the Ormánság Region

The bed made of soft-wood with the bedcloth stacked high is in the opposite corner. The armed wooden seat with the back toppling over, the above mentioned rengő was next to the bed, the baby was put on it bound in a hutch. The hewn chest is at the end of the bed with the clothes of the family in it. The table, the site of family events is placed opposite the bed, with a bench in the corner and with carved chairs, on the wall above is the tálas with some decorative crockery. The Bible and some indispensable smaller objects like the soap or the calendar were kept on the girder beam. There are large storing tanks in the larder: like the 'dudu' made from the hollow trunk of the poplar that is characteristic in the area, various mortars, utensils, tools for carving, for agriculture, chests, baskets for storing different kinds of grain and eggs, plaited from straw, an old unused chest with flour in it, and the parts of the loom.
