Pécsvárad, similarly to other villages of the region. Pottery in Pécsvárad was made widely known by its tin glazed crockery, which was of an excellent quality, decorated with blue, yellow, green patterns on a white backgound. Earthenware souvenirs ­flasks, toys, pitchers for holy water - known as 'Gyűd pottery' sold at parish feasts were made in Siklós. A potters' guild had been working in the town since 1776.
