House of a well-off farmer from the Ormánság. Before 1894, photograph by Károly Zelesny Womens' wear in the Ormánság region was characterized by the white colour that made it very archaic. Women's hair was divided in the middle just like girls'. It was braided in two, and was curled on the back of the head. A headdress was put on the hair, covered with coloured silk richly ornamented by artificial flowers, gold and silver threads, wide silk ribbons, black lace. The shape of the headdress, the colours of the ornaments and the ribbons precisely signified the age of the Children in festive garments from the Eastern foot of the Mecsek, Bogád.
