Folkweaves
From the above mentioned ethnical groups the Sokac from the Dráva region made skirts, aprons, satchels, rainclothes, bedspreads, the Bosnians around Pécs made aprons, Serbs made aprons and bedspreads and tablecloths. Székelys and Csángós wove clothes for wooden seats. In the winter Sokac women wore a vertically striped woollen skirt and a horizontally striped apron. The width and the combination of colours of the stripes referred to the age of the wearer. They ornamented their festive skirts with szedett or kilim technique, by repeating various rows of patterns, with the frequent use of white. Their beds were also covered by a woollen weave that was ornamented with patterns woven in between wide streaks of various colours. They also had multicoloured chequered bedspreads and ones ornamented with rows of flowers. Finally, they used an extremely richly ornamented weave made with a kind of kilim technique that was taken to church to kneel on it. 40
