Excerpts from the Visitors' Book of the Pécs City Museum

The first permanent exhibition of the Pécs City Museum was opened on 27th November 1904, and its Visitors' Book re-emerged recently from the collection of Janus Pannonius Museum. With only minor interruptions in its continuity, the guest book follows the various exhibitions and locations of the museum, way until 1948. The present paper is a special selection of parts of this document reaching almost 300 pages, which was created in an era of 20th century Hungarian history that brought about many fundamental changes.
