A pécsi Pius Kollégium kertjének története 243 The history of the garden of the Pius College in Pécs Andrea Pásztor The Pius Foundation Catholic College of the Society of Jesus was founded in Pécs by Bishop Gyula Zichy in 1912. The Jesuit order maintaining the school worked continuously on transforming the bishop's vineyard in Csoronika Lane so that it could serve education and the college. In 1950 the site was transferred into the possession of the Pécs Pedagogical College together with the garden which today is a protected Botanical Garden belonging to the University of Pécs. Our study presents about different stages of the history of the garden.
