Vasarely kiállítás Eszéken (Waldinger Galéria). A kiállítást a horvát kulturális miniszter és a zágrábi magyar nagykövet nyitotta meg. A BMMI által 2002-ben szervezett konferenciák. Jelentős szakmai sikernek számított, amelyet a résztvevők is visszaigazoltak, a "2000 év a Duna mentén / 2000 Jahre entlang der Donau" с. nemzetközi tudományos konferencia. (Pécs, 2002. május 16-19, a téma szakmai felelőse az Igazgatóság volt). A programban együttműködő partnerek: Baranya Megyei Önkormányzat, Pécs M. J. Város, Pécsi Tudományegyetem, Osztrák Köztársaság Tiszteletbeli Konzulátusa (Pécs), Landesmuseum Joanneum Graz (Ausztria), Historische Landeskomission für Steiermark (Graz), Österreichisches Kulturforum. A rendezvény során 21 szakmai előadás hangzott el a fenti témában, amelyeket magyar, osztrák, német, szlovén, horvát és jugoszláviai szakemberek tartottak. A konferencia keretében "Pódiumbeszélgetés az EU-ról / Podiumdiskussion über EU" címmel nyilvános kerekasztal-beszélgetésre is sor került. (A rendezvény támogatói: Aktionstiftung Österreich-Ungarn, Österreichisches Kulturforum, Pro Renovanda Cultura Hungáriáé Alapítvány, NKÖM) A konferencia során dr. Barbara Lee-Störck igazgató (Österreichisches Kulturforum) megnyitotta Inge Morath: Donau (Duna) с. fotókiállítását. (Az elhangzott előadásokból 2003-ban magyar-német nyelvű tanulmánykötet jelent meg.) 2002-ben a BMMI volt a rendezője, házigazdája a Magyar Múzeumi Történész Társulat (MAMUTT) 3. Országos Konferenciájának (Pécsvárad, 2002. szeptember 4-6.) A rendezvényért az Új- és Legújabb kori Történeti Osztály és az Igazgatóság volt a felelős. A Graduate Center. The Victor Vasarely Exhibition at the Waldinger Gallery in Osijek, opened by the Croatian Minister of Culture and the Zagreb Hungarian Ambassador, opened the series of events to celebrate the 30 th jubilee of the twinning of the cities of Pécs and Osijek. Conferences organised by the BCMD in 2002 The international academic conference "2000 Years on the Banks of the Danube / 2000 Jahre entlang der Donau" (May 16-19, 2002) was a resounding professional success borne out by those attending it. (The Directorate was responsible for choosing the topic.) The event was partnered by Baranya County Council, the County Seat of Pécs, Pécs University, the Honorary Austrian Consulate of Pécs, the Graz Landesmuseum Joanneum (Austria), the Historische Landeskomission für Steiermark (Graz) and the Österreichisches Kulturforum. During the conference 21 academic lectures were given on the above theme, given by specialists from Hungary, Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia and Yugoslavia. An open round-table debate with the title "Podium Conversation about the EU/ Podiumdiskussion über EU" was held in conjunction with the conference. (The event was supported by Aktionstiftung Österreich-Ungarn, Österreichisches Kulturforam, the Pro Renovanda Cultura Hungáriáé Foundation and Ministry for a National Cultural Heritage.) During the conference Dr. Barbara Lee-Störck (Director of the Österreichisches Kulturforum) opened Inge Morath's Donau (Danube) photography exhibition. (In 2003 an academic volume of the lectures was published, in Hungarian and German.)
