Válogatás az Új- és Legújabb kori Történeti. múzeumnak. A gyűjtemény nemcsak ajándékozással, hanem magángyűjtemények vételével is gyarapodott. A képes levelezőlapok készítőinek kedvenc témái mindig a városok főtere, főutcája, templomai, középületei voltak. Ezt tapasztaljuk a pécsi lapok esetében is. A képeslapok értékes dokumentumai a város múltjának. Üzletek, műhelyek, közintézmények elhelyezkedéséről, tulajdonosairól nyújtanak információt. De nyomon követhetjük a város változó arculatát, épületek lebontását, átépítését, újak emelését. Képes levelezőlap, Pécs - Széchenyi tér Lsz:K1.80.1667 Mérete: 9 cm x 14,1 cm, fénykép, nyomtatott, postatiszta. 1910 körül készült. Kiadó: Fürst Lipót dohánynagyárus, Pécs. 1911-ben került a gyűjteménybe, a kiadó aj ándékaként. A képeslapon a város főterén, a Széchenyi téren lévő Belvárosi Templom (Gházi Kászim Dzsámi) és a tér keleti oldalán álló épületek láthatóak. A török hódoltság megszűnése után a török templom a jezsuiták, a város, majd a ciszterciták tulajdonába került. A templomot többször átépítették. A képeslap a templom 19. század hatvanas éveiben kialakított állapotát őrzi. Az épület jelenlegi formáját az 1939-ben megkezdett átépítés során nyerte el. The main squares, main streets, churches and public buildings of towns were always favourites of the postcard makers, and the case of Pécs is no different. The postcards are therefore valuable documents of the city's past. They provide information of the locations and ownership's of shops, workshops and public buildings. But through them we can also keep track of the changing face of the city, of demolitions, reconstructions and new building. Picture postcard, Pécs- Széchenyi Square Cat. No.: Kl.80.1667 9 Pécs. cm x 14,1 cm, photograph, printed, unfranked. Made in around 1910. Place of issue: Lipót Fürst, wholesale tobacconist, Pécs. Entered the collection in 1911 as a gift from the manufacturer. The card depicts the Inner City Church (the Mosque of Gházi Kassim) and the buildings on the left side of the square. After the Turkish Occupation the mosque was appropriated first by the Jesuits, then the City, and finally the Cistercian Order. The church was reconstructed on a number of occasions, the picture postcard preserves it as it was in the 1860s. The building's present form dates from the reconstruction begun in 1937. To the right of the church, on the east side of the square, can be seen the Nádor Hotel (1902) and the building of the Royal Court of Appeal (1891).
