It lives along small brooklets running across alder groves. A diurnal species. Discussion L General characterization of the Trichoptera fauna 84 species were collected in the Zselic Downs in the past years. This is almost half of the Hungarian fauna. The members of Rhyacophilidae are almost missing, only one of the ten species occurs here, in the transitional zone between the Mecsek Mountains and Zselic. This species, Rhyacophila fasciata Hagen tolerates slow and silty bedded streams, too. Probably their larvae and pupae are swept away and therefore it may befound along the slow flowing branches of the Bükkösd Stream. Neither glossosomatid nor philopotamid species was found. The bulk of the Hungarian hydroptilids lives in lakes and ponds: 8 of the 17 known species were collected here, some of them are very rare (or little known). 8 of the 13 hydropsy chid species were captured. Typical mountainous species are missing, e. g. Hydro-
