40 S. NÓGRÁDI-Á Rhyacophila dorsalis Curt. It was mentoined only by Újhelyi (1981c), the single specimen known from Hungary was found in a light-trap material of Nagytétény near Budapest. It is not a rarity in the mountainous region of the Carpathian Basin. Rhyacophila hirticomis McL. The first Hungarian specimen was reported from the Kőszeg Mts. by Újhelyi (1981a, 1981b). Later it was found in the Mecsek Mts., South Hungary (Nógrádi 1984b, 1987). It is a frequent species in its biotope. Synagapetus krawanyi Ulmer. This species was described from Lower Austria. In Hungary it was discovered in the Mecsek Mts. (Nógrádi 1984a), later we captured some specimens in the Kőszeg Mountains. Lepidostoma hirtum Fabr. A rare species which occurs at Kisdobsza (Nógrádi and Uherkovich 1988), in the Bakony Mts. (Nógrádi and Uherkovich 1985), in the Zemplén Mts., NE Hungary (Oláh 1967) and at Magyarszombatfa, W Hungary (coll. Janus Pannonius Museum, Pécs). Parachiona picicornis Pict. This species has been known from the Mátra Mts. (Újhelyi 1975, 1985). It is one of the earliest species, its activity period is in April and the beginning of May. We should like to mention some further species occurring at few sites only: Glossosoma conformis Neboiss, Ptilocolepus granulatus Pict., Hydropsyche guttata Pict., Cheumatopsyche lepida Pict., Plectrocnemia brevis McL., Tinodes rostocki McL., Ecclisopteryx madida McL., Phacopteryx brevipennis Curt., Potamophylax luctuosus Pill, et Mitt., Chaetopteryx rugulosa Kol., Ithytrichia lamellaris Eaton. A high dominancy of stream- and spring-inhabiting species is characteristic for the mountains (see also Table 1-2). The occurrence of species of stagnant waters is rather occasional. Summary On 12 sites of the Kőszeg Mountains 88 species were collected by sweeping, night capturing and light trap. Three species proved to be new for the Hungarian fauna (Hydropsyche siltalai Döhler, Plectrocnemia geniculata McL. and Adicella balcanica Bots, et Novak), furUHERKOVICH ther two species (Rhyacophila laevis'Pict, Philopotamus ludificatus McL.) occur here only.
