Természettudományok - Nógrádi, Sára: The Trichoptera fauna of Szőce and its environs (West Hungary)

32 SARA NÓGRÁDI was captured in the Mecsek Mountains, Kárász Nógrádi 1987) and in Kőszeg Mountains (Nógrádi and Uherkovich 1989). As it was pointed out by Malicky (1977), until recent time, several species of the Hydropsyche guttata group have been confused. Thus, the earlier publications concerning the species of this group, are unreliable. Phacoptetyx brevipennis Curt. It occurs over a large area of Europe, mostly living in marshes. The first Hungarian specimen was collected at Szőce (Nógrádi 1984), later, further specimens were collected in South Transdanubia: Kisdobsza (Nógrádi and Uherkovich 1988), Kocsola and Bares (ined.). In 1986 we swept a females in the Kőszeg Mountains, too. Potamophylax luctuosus Piller et Mitt. It has proved to be a frequent species at some sites following its discovery in Hungary (Nógrádi 1984). Several specimens were caught in the Mecsek Mountains and around Szőce, in 1986 and 1987 it was captured in two localities of the Kőszeg Mountains, too. Besides of these, 3 further remarkable species were found in this area. Oligotricha striata L. is a species of moors of West Hungary and the Zemplén Mountains (Oláh 1967, Újhelyi 1981b). Only a few specimens were captured on its four known sites. Rhadicoleptus alpestris Kol. It is a frequent species in West Hungary, more than eighty specimens were collected at Szőce, too. Towards the southeast it becomes scarce. In the South Transdanubia only one specimen was collected in recent time (Szulimán, YM11, Zselic Downs, June 7, 1987, leg. Á. Uherkovich). Chaetopteryx rugulosa Kol. The first Hungarian specimen was published by Újhelyi (1981a, 1981b), from the Kőszeg Mountains. Later, further specimens were collected there (Nógrádi and Uherkovich 1989), and as it turned out eventually, that this caddisfly species is very frequent along the Szőce stream in October and November.
