28 ABALIGET TABANIDAE ÉS STRATIOMYIDAE FAUNÁJA Data to the Stratiomyidae and Tabanidae (Diptera) fauna of Abaliget, Hungary József MAJER The study qualitatively and quantitatively analyse the Tabanidae and Stratiomyidae fauna of Abaliget, situated in the North-West part of Mecsek Mountain. This area has most rainy and rather cool climate of Mecsek Mountain. Collection was in course from May to October through 3 years in the examined area by mtans of 1 Malaise trap and ocassionaly by sweeping. 19 species of Tabanidae and 8 species of Stratiomyi­dae were collected. Haematopota bigoti, Hybomitra distinguenda and Oxycera meigeni proved to be new species for the fauna of Mecsek Mountain. We had only literature data of Oxycera meigeni from Hun­gary till now. Documentary examples exist from Me­csek Mountain only. Tabanus maculicornis proved to be the dominant species of this area (68,42 p. c.) and the rate of Tabanus bromius (most common and do­minant species in the different parts of Hungary) was 18,80 p. с only. Tabanidae fauna of Abaliget was compared with the horse fly fauna of Éger-Valley which situated in Southern part of Mecsek Mountain. The differences beetwen the fauna of two area due to the deviation of their climate.
