A Nyugati-Gyöngyös mentén több helyütt eredményes trichoptera-gyűjtéseket végeztünk az elmúlt 10 évben. Az anyag régebbi és kisebb részét még Üjhelyi S. dolgozta fel. 1982-1986 között a cikk szerzői igen intenzíven gyűjtöttek itt, s ennek eredményeképpen összesen 68 faj 5640 példányát fogták meg. Az anyag zömét Kisdobsza mellett higanygőzlámpával fogták, áramforrásuk hordozható
