The dimensions are relatively uniform. Withers height obtained from the length of three astragali (Teichert 1969): 680-770 mm. Horse The dimension of 14 horse teeth and 22 horse bones are known to have been recorded at the site. The teeth were microdonts. Withers height obtained by Vitfs method (1952) from the length of the mc coming from the V: 1290.6 mm — low; withers height obtained from the length of a tibia and a metatarsus coming from the LR: 1430-1450.6 mm - both tall. Ass Eight of the ass remains were measurable. Both the teeth and the bones were small-sized. Withers height obtained by Koudelkds method (1886) from the length Kővágószőlősön a római villagazdaság területén 1977től 1982-ig Sz. Burger Alice végzett ásatást, amelynek során egy római villa és egy római sírkamra került feltárásra (lásd Sz. Burger Alice tanulmányát ugyanebben a kötetben). Ezt megelőzően 1975-ben Kárpáti G. és Maráz B. végeztek leletmentést a területen, ahol késő bronzkori telep gödrei, a később feltárásra kerülő római villa alapfalait átvágó 4—5 sz-i későrómai telep gödörlakásai és tárológödrei kerültek feltárásra {Kárpáti, G.— Maráz, B. 1976). A régészeti ásatás területén előkerült 14 faj 2811 db csotmaradványa — a hiányos kutya, illetve macska csontvázak kivételével — másodlagos helyen felhalmozódott konyhai hulladék (Table, 1., 2). I:A. 2 alapterületű peristyliumában volt a csontanyag 49,3 %-a, míg a tractusok összes alapterületén (770 m

) közel ugyanennyi 50,7% csontmaradvány fordult elő. A peristyliumban a villa többi helyiségeihez (152 mm) of the mc coming from the LR: 963.6 mm — low. Dog Three incomplete dog skeletons have come to light at the site (Table 1.). Each skeleton had a different size. Withers heights obtained by Koudelka's method (1886): V: SK 1. - 623 mm; SK 2. - 527.8 mm; aV: 578 mm; Bv: SK 3. — 606.6 mm; LR: 550 mm and 605 mm. Cat The matured specimens had medium-sized bones, corresponding to those found at other sites dating from the same period. Hunted animals The bodily proportions of roe deer, red deer, wild boar and brown hare correspond to those of the other hunted animals discovered at other sites dating from the same period. Birds (Table 8.) 46 pieces of bird bones are known to have been identified at Kővágószőlős. Of these, 45 came from domestic fowls: goose, duck, hen and pigeon, and one from a wild fowl: owl, usually lodging in ruins. The majority of the domestic fowls were hens. Pigeon remains were found only in and around the wings of the villa. The LR has yielded exclusively hen bones. The bird bones were identified by Prof. D. Villa környéke A villához DK-re kapcsolódó fürdő tractus rétegeiben kevesebb (37 db), a villához DNy-ra kapcsolódó folyosó rétegeiben több (149 db) az állatcsontmaradvány. A villától É-ra és K-re levő 3—4 sz-i településrétegekben nagy számban fordultak elő (574 db) csontmaradványok. (Table 5). //.
