Conidiophores macronematous, mononematous, branched at the apex forming a stipe and a head. Stipe erect, dark blackish brown, smooth, branches paler, smooth, 216,9x8,4 microns. Conidia 27,8-33,4x8,4-10,1 microns, straight or slightly curved, ellipsoidal or cylindrical, rounded at apex, caudate at the base, usually 4-septate, smooth, the cells at each end pale brown, intermediate cells dark brown. (I. Plate: 2.) Note: It is a new species to the Hungarian flora. Menispora glanca Pers. On rotting twigs of Fraxinus excelsior L. - In the valley Mély-völgy, Mts. Mecsek hegység, in the vicinity of the village Mánfa, 25. 2. 1977. Colonies greyish brown. Conidia 3-septate, 19,522,3x3,3-4,4 microns with a setula at each end, setulae 11,1-13,9 microns long. Oedemium atrum Link [= Thaxteria fusca (Fuck.) Booth] On rotten decorticated branches of Fagus silvatica L. - Mts. Mecsek hegység, in the forest in the environs of the village Mecseknádasd, 3. 7. 1963. Colonies brown, felted. Conidiophores dichotomous, mid brown, 5-6,8 microns thick, ampullae numerous 11,0-11,7 microns diam. thin-walled at the apex, somtimes collapsing and becoming cupulate. Conidia oblong rounded at the ends, dark brown, in the centre paler at each end, 1-septate, 16,7-19,5x8,411,7 microns in the broadest part. (I. Plate: 5.)
