Papp Nóra & Horváth Dávid: Vadon termő ehető növények Homoródkarácsonyfalván (Erdély)
92 Dunántúli Dolgozatok (A) Természettudományi Sorozat 13. (2013) Wild edible plants in Homoródkarácsonyfalva (Transylvania) Nóra Papp & Dávid Horváth This archaic knowledge of the indigenous people is based on the traditional collecting and home methods of the plant species. In present work, the traditional data of a Transylvanian village namely Homoródkarácsonyfalva were analysed and collected about the wild edible plants by field trips and semi-structured interviews in 2011-2012. The mentioned vernacular names of the plants varied from 1 to 6 per species. Among the plant parts used, the whole flowering stem (herb), leaf, flower, fruit, root, sap and bark were mentioned. According to the data evaluation, the described 64 (59 wild and 5 exotic) taxa were used for non-medical purposes in foods and beverages, as soup, salad, vegetable, preserved fruit, pickle, jam, syrup, tincture, vinegar, brandy, wine and spice, completed with ethnomedicinal data of some species. Traditional ethnobotanical data about the wild edible plants play an important role nowadays in this settlement: their collection, description, evaluation and preservation can contribute to further researches and fieldworks in the future.
