Kunkovács László: Halászat: ősfoglalkozás, ősgondolkozás
László Kunkovács Fishing: an ancient profession and a way of thinking Ottó Herman called fishing and shepherding as the most ancient professions. According to Otto Herman the gathering of food is the point where we have to start examining the ancient cultures. The earliest inventions of mankind were the traps with which animals were captured. The structure of fishing tools reveal great knowledge of nature and show great consistency as well. The continuous research on the lifestyle of fishermen can still bring surprising discoveries up. For example the fishing trips from leak in winter what the author photographed along the River Ipoly, the latest version of “milling” (fish landing net handle) in Ersekcsanád (near Baja), framed fishing net with weights made of horse bones (this tool is called “kece”) and the revival of wicker fish pot for catching catfish.
