The twentieth century brought a great transformation in fishing, whereby numerous new technologies and materials became known and used. Sándor Pató strove to learn these methods and skills from the people in his immediate environment and from specialist magazines. Moreover, he himself invented new tools and methods that made his work easier and more effective. Through his life and inventions we gain insight into the world of a folk culture that did not waste anything and put everything to use.
