Gyergyádesz László, ifj.: Félbeszakadt prófécia Lantos Ferenc zománcművészeti alkotásai 1967-1976 (Kecskemét, 2006)

THE INTERRUPTED PROPHECY

Kiállítási enteriőr (Kortárs magyar zománcművészet, Kecskeméti Képtár, 1998] Lantos Ferenc, Fájó János, Bak Imre és Gyarmathy Tihamér Bonyhádon készült műveivel (az előtérben látható figurális szobor a kecskeméti Báron László alkotása] [1972, colorplate 23]. The most extraordinary piece is on the DÉDÁSZ building that is an entirely flat building situated in a large but very boring environment. That frieze has further increased the horizontal emphasis of the architecture, however, it would not meet the requirement of recogniz- ability. In order to reach the later Lantos placed the text, as a sort of self-explaining and ingenious solution, asymmetrically on six steel cubes standing on their angles in front of the DÉDÁSZ building. Moreover, Lantos has organized the identical motifs, repetitions and systemic relationships in a way as to make to cubes seen as the logical spatial expansion of the frieze on the plane, hence, organically connecting the building with its environment. The first two sub-groups show it most clearly that Lantos's basic goal was to use enamel in a way that is organically connected to and is complementing the mural works and architecture, yet in a fashion that fits industrial mass production.
