Researches can be done with the help of finding aids and be listed either by themes or individual names. Previous research endeavors have focused on the following: - the consequences of the town's environment ­certain plots and house premises, town facilities at certain time periods like schools, organizations,, history of associations and companies or with data about prominent figures like town officers and their work. Among the surviving fragments of documents, there were several regional administrative organizations including e. g. the Budapest Headquarters of Hungarian Royal State Police, the office of Regional Superintendant of Schools, School Inspectorate and some certain hybrid state-capital orga­nizations The Board of Public Works, Administrative Committee can be found in the collection of the Budapest City Archives. The documents of the courts are mainly from the first half of the 20 th century and the fonds of notarial files are valuable from view of social history. Formally the Registry Court that used to be a jurisdicial organization, nonetheless, the written material of the capital city is of considerable importantance regarding the history of economics. The institution of state and (local city councils) self-government worked within the old framework between 1945 and 1950 but some remarkable historicaly important organizations were formed. We should mention that among the jurisdictional records the documents of People's Tribunal that operated between 1945 and 1949 and the documents of national and political certifying committees are also of great historical import. A significant source for both Budapest and Székesfehérvár are the registers and other files of municipal schools maintained mainly by the former local-governments. Local archives must play an important role and should be repositories in the first degree to acquire important sources of the locality in order to hold the collective memory of the town.
