BY KATALIN ZALAI ARCHIVES OF HISTORY OF POLITICS AND TRADE UNION T he Archives of History of Politics and Trade Union are open private archives. It collects the documents of Hungarian working-class movements, legal and illegal ones before 1945, the documents of the parties, left-wing youth organizations, trade unions and of people who join in these movements and organizations after World War II. The archives have tried to find and maintain the materials and sources of enduring value of present time and mainly the private records from the time of political changes. It is open to all parties, organizations and associations and any individual who intends to deposit e.g. files and file bequests for keeping. The archives nowadays keep about 4,000 linear metres of documents; 284 film rolls can be found about foreign documents that relate to Hungary. Our archives hold the surviving documents of legal and illegal workers' party from before 1945.
