Iván Okályi's Horticulturist Certificate

The study wishes to introduce the horticulturist certificate issued by the Hungarian Royal Horticultural Educational Institution on 20 June 1923 based on the results of the research programme titled "Qualification and Doctoral Certificates of the Institutes of Higher Education in Hungary (1642) 1775-1948" that is going on since 2004 with the aim to track, collect, organize into a database, and describe (with the methodology of several auxiliary sciences of history, like diplomatics, sigillography, heraldry) the qualification and doctoral certificates of the institutes of higher education in Hungary. It is aimed to analyse the said document not only from the auxiliary historical scientific aspect but also from the aspect of institution history, profession and education history, and from the aspect of the history of science. Also, it points out the art historical aspects of the certificate as a graphic work of art.
