Robert Offner: Milyen egyetemeket látogattak az erdélyi és magyarországi orvostanhallgatók, illetve azok közép-európai kollégái aló. században? Which Universities did the Transylvanian and Hungarian Medical Students, and their Central European Colleagues, Attend in the 16th Century? The aim of the paper is to compare the university studies of the known physicians of the 16th century from Hungary and, after 1526, from the territory of royal Hungary and the principality of Transylvania, and their Central European colleagues (from southern and central German-speaking areas). The results show that the top five most popular universities were the same in both categories: Padova, Wittenberg, Bázel, Vienna, and Bologna. We may establish that students from the Pannonian Basin could study at the same prestigious and scientifically outstanding medical faculties as their Central European colleagues. Therefore, we may assume that there might not have been significant differences in terms of their medical expertise, either; that must have corresponded to the uniform "European" standards.
