INTRODUCTION Levéltári Közlemények (Archival Publications, Journal of the Hungarian National Archives), one of the most prominent professional journal of the archivists and historians have been published since 1923. A detailed description of its history was published by János Buzási in 1993.

4 This Index Volume summerizes the contents of the journal published in the last ten years (1994-2004), together with a general index in the end, in which institutions, names of persons, geographic names and subject items included in the titles of the summerized contents are given. All the items of the summerized contents are published as they were originally published, so readers may feel they have the relating original volume of the journal in their hands. First, bibliographic entries of the Volumes are listed. In the main part (summerized contents) publications are arranged in alphabetical order of the authors; reviews are separated from the titles by stars (***). Publications without sign of author are arranged within the others in alphabetical order of their titles. Source publications, bibliographies, obituaries (memories) and reviews are included also in thematic chapters in order to get information of them in one place. The items of the summerized contents are numbered continously.
