Habsburgok és Magyarország a kiegyezést követően - Fiziker Róbert: "A zsidó lakosság rendkívüli hazafias. Mi ezt sohsem fogjuk elfelejteni". IV. Károly és a zsidóság

Habsburgok és Magyarország a kiegyezést követően Róbert Fiziker “The Jewish population is particularly patriotic. We will never forget this” Charles IV and the Jews The author examines in the often nostalgic, but critically reassessing era of the Habsburg-renaissance, how connected the last Austrian emperor and Hungarian king, Charles Is (King of Hungary as Charles IV) reign - two years fraught with danger and war - to the centuries long relationship of the Habsburg family and the Jews in “the fairly righteous land of the Monarchy”. The role of Jews in the Great War is investigated based on three academically accepted viewpoints. Firstly the research appraises how military duty was fulfilled. Secondly it approaches the subject through political and social history. Finally the study assesses the political and social elite’s reactions to the growing anti-Semitic morale. The study examines many examples of the Habsburg dynasty’s actions, for example Franz Joseph’s traditional, symbolic politics praised even by Jewish people. 92
