Levéltári Közlemények, 63. (1992) 1–2. - Szakály Ferenc: Javaslat a „Monumenta archivalia historiam regni Hungariae maedii aevi illustrantia” munkálatainak beindítására / 157–173. o.

, Monumenta Archiválta Históriám Regni Hungáriáé Maedii Aevi Illustrantia'' 173 information has also become known. Therefore the preparation of a new collection ofdocuments is necessary, prepared after an examination of all existing documents from Hungary, and presenting the essential information of public history. By information conceming public history we mean all data relating to rulers, diplomatic activities and campaigns. Data conceming the diets and sessions of the royal Council belong here only if they can be assigned to a clearly determined Session. Data conceming peasant- and worker unrest and abuses of power should be included only if they are linked to events of public history. The collection must deal with the entire set of documents of Hungary, but first of all the donations of the kings and queens, the privileges and exemptions. Material of Hungary means documents that originated in the country, or were sent here; reports sent home by ambassadors from abroad, and the letters of Hungarians living permanently abroad — except for soldiers and diplomats in Hungárián service — do not belong here. Special periods of Hungárián history and sources dealing with bordér cases raise additional methodological problems.
