For the attention of the misinformed western politicians

Ever since Hungarians settled in their European homeland, their history has been an endless succession of self-sacrifices. They' blocked the invasions of Asian Hordes such as the Mongols (in the 13th century), the Turks (in the 14th-17th centuries), and Russian-Panslavic Bolsheviks in the 19th and 20th centuries), wh were intent on conquering Europe. At the same time Hungary was a buffer resisting German expansion towards the East and South-East. It was mainly due to the heroic sacrifices of the Hungarian nation that the Western Christian Civilisation survived. Hungary stopped all eastern invasions menacing the West such as Petchegens, Cumanians, Mongolians, Turks, Russians and Bolshevism. (This latter one in 1918, 1945, 1956 and 1989.)

In 1241-1242, Hungary stopped the powerful Asiatic Tartar army. Hungary’s greatest sons perished in this effort, and most of her towns were destroyed. If the Tartars had not encountered resistance here, they would have devastated Europe, burnt its cities, killed its people, and destroyed its cultural treasures.

Hungary took up the struggle against the invading Turks (in the 14th- 17th centuries). The latter’s object was to subdue Europe and annihilate its civilisation. Hunyadi’s decisive victory at Nándorfehérvár

(now Belgrade) in 1456, prompted Pope Calixtus III. to order that in remembrance and commemoration of this triumph, bells should be rung at noon in every church for ever. For her services Hungary was

Robert Johnson, the

learned Englishman stated: „Hungary did more to guard Europe against the Turks than did all of the other nations together”.

Dommerge, the distinguished historian, wrote: „The magyar John Hunyadi saved Europe, and Hungary bled for humanity in her heroic struggle against the Turks”.

Pierre Delattre, the

noted French historian, said: „England, France and Hungary had about the same population in the Middle Ages. The reason why today England has 50, France 40 and Hungary 9 millions inhabitants, is that for 400 years Hungary shed blood to safeguard Europe’s culture and Christian civilization!”

As a price for rescuing the rest of Europe from Turkish domination, Hungary’s population diminished from four to two and a half million. It was after this that Serbs, Germans, Romanians and other settled, albeit with the Habsburg rulers’ help, in the unpopulated areas. Their continuous warfare had prompted Hungarians to seek help from the nearby Habsburg Empire.

Washington’s representative, Charles Andrews said: „Without the sacrifice if the magyar people, the Koran would have displaced the Bible, and all of Europe would be under Islamic rule”.

On April 2, 1910 Theodore Roosevelt, President of the United States, speaking as a visitor in the House of Commons in Budapest, said: „While

America was still undiscovered, Hungary was already checking Barbarian expansion and saving the security of the civilized world. For This we are all indebted to her!”

One fatal and hardly repairable mistake made by the allies that, ten years later at the signing of the Treaty of Versailles, terminating World War I. (4 June, 1920)deprived Hungary of two thirds of her area. The Treaty of Paris, following World War II (1947), coused Hungary to lose further areas of its already dismembered country. These unnatural and unreasonable Peace dictates sapped the vitality of Hungary and the Carpathian basin, and demolished their

capacity for resistance.

Why Hungary was Dismembered at Trianon

Although Hungary was labelled as one of the culprits at the outbreak of World War I, and an oppressor of her minority groups, it is beyond dispute that the Prime Minister of

Hungary, Count Stephen Tisza, strove hard to prevent the outbreak of war. In fact, hé was the Only Member of the Austro- Hungarian Joint Ministerial Council for Common Affairs who, from the first day of the crisis, consistently opposed the war. In the end, it was Hungary that was most severely punished. Furthermore, none of the inhabitants of Hungary — not even the allegedly oppressed nationalities — were given the right to decide their fate. When the Hungarian Peace Delegation was handed the final terms of the Peace Treaty for their signature, a document more correctly describad as an ultimatum rather than a negotiated treaty, the chief delegate . suggested that in accordance with the principle of self-determination the population affected by the treaty should be consulted through plebiscites: —

„Ask the people themselves” — exclaimed Count Albert Apponyi to the assembled delegates of the victors.

— „We will accept their verdict!” This indeed would have been entirely consistent with the Wilsonian idea of self-determination. Why was in not employed? The reason was revealed bluntly in the book, La Paix, by Andre Tardieu, who was to become Prime Minister of France twice between the wars, in the following terms: — „We had to choose between organising plebiscites or creating Czechoslovakia”.

Perhaps the most important reason was that by time the peacemakers turned to the treaty with Hungary, they were bored with the entire process, consider the words of one of the. participants: — „I have reliable information that the delegates, and in particular the representatives of the Western Powers, are frightfully bored with the whole Peace Conference. Especially since the Hungarians presented their notes and memoranda, they have begun to realise that the Hungarian question should be examined from many angles, for which they had neither the time nor the patience”. Thus, despite pleas from the Hungarians, the Treaty had to be signed, down to its most minute details in its original form in which it had been drafted long before the peace conference finalized and thus the consequences that followed. Mr. Lloyd George is on record as saying with respect to the Hungarian Peace Treaty of Trianon: — „All the documentation furnished to us by certain allies were mendacious and falsified. (Revue Parlamentaire, Paris, 1934).

The Treaty of Trianon was signed on 4 June, 1920. One year later, on 7 June the reverend Father Weterle declared in the French National Assembly: — „I am profoundly convinced that had plebiscites been held neither the Serbs nor the Romanians would have received more than one third of the votes cast... People had been pushed against their will. There can be no doubt that”.

Father Weterle spoke from experience. After all, the Alsatians, although of Germanic origin and speaking a Germanic language, desired to be French. The sentiment was similar to that of the Wends and Slovens of Hungary’s Muraköz region. Despite being Slavs by origin and lineage, these two ethnic groups requested, unsuccessfully, to be allowed to remain as a part of Hungary in 1919.

As events later proved, it would have been advantageous also for the Croats and Slovaks to be consulted before they were made to merge into one State with the Serbs and Czechs respectively. That they were unhappy with the new arrangements became evident. When the opportunity presented itself during the course of World War II. both nations were quick to declare their independence from the artificially created „Successor States”.

British historian Alfred Cobban made an astute observation in his book,

Nor were Poland or Rumania much better off, with minorities amounting to 30,4% and 25% of their respective populations”.

Ignorant western politicans! It’s never too late to make amendments to this unjust „Treaty of Trianon.

A Die Welt című konzervatív napilap az Ibériaifélsziget egyik botrányáról tudósít: az egykori, koncentrációs táborban őrzött foglyok spanyol szervezetének elnöke, Enric Marco, a nyilvánosság előtt elismerte: múltját illetően hazudott. Marco évtizedeken keresztül állította, hogy a bajorországi Flossenbürg koncentrációs táborába internálták. — Elismerem, hogy sohasem voltam Flossenbürgben — nyilatkozta a napokban a 84 esztendős férfi. Mint mondta: rövid ideig Németországban vizsgálati fogságban tartották, de innen kiszabadult, és már 1943-ban visszatért Spanyolországba. Eme önvallomás után egyesülete éléről azonnali hatállyal eltávolították.

Enric Marco, mint az egyesület elnöke rengeteg

előadást tartott á holokausztról, Auschwitz felszabadulásának évfordulóján pedig a spanyol parlamentben mondott beszédet. 1978-ban publikálta életrajzát Emlékezés a pokolra címmel, amelyben táborbeli élményeiről számolt be. A 89 esztendős Neus Catala, a ravensbrücki női tábor egyetlen még életben lévő spanyol foglya az El País című lapnak úgy nyilatkozott: ő mindig is tudta, hogy Marco sohasem járt Flossenbürgben, mivel leírásai a német tábort illetően nem tűntek hitelesnek.

A hazugságára akkor derült fény, amikor egy történész a koncentrációs tábor felszabadításának 60. évfordulójának kutatásakor semmilyen nyomát sem találta Marco flossenbürgi tartózkodásának.

A mai liberális felfogás otthon az, hogy ne beszéljünk, ne írjunk Trianonról. Egyszerűen felejtsük el, hogy volt és a legfontosabb a „békés együttélés szomszédainkkal”.

De mi mégsem felejtjük el és írni fogunk róla, ameddig erőnk, egészségünk és életünk időtartama megengedi.

Sok olyan történetről nincs tudomása a magyar népnek, mely ezt a gálád, egyedülálló békediktátumot megelőzte. Voltak jóindulatú idegenek is a tárgyalások megkezdése előtt, akik figyelmeztették a konferencia tagjait, de mivel az egész gyalázatos akciót már előre kitervelték és a konferencia előtt jóváhagyták, az ilyen jelentétokaji szőlőket, ráadásul Vác, Miskolc, Sárospatak, Sátoraljaújhely városokat. A valach-románok valóságos balkáni állam-boa constrictorként egész Délkelet-Magyarországgal együtt, még a Tiszántúlt is le akarták nyelni Szegeddel és Debrecennel. A szerbek pedig az egész magyar Baranyát Pécs városával egyetemben.

Milyen indokkal? A közép-európai nagy pánszláv elképzelés ürügyével és igézetében. A csehek például azért akartak mindenáron lehatolni a Dunáig, hogy közös határuk legyen és összeölelkezhessenek a nagy pánszláv testvérrel, a Szovjetunióvá átvedlett Oroszországgal és Romániával.

Sokan felvetették már azt a kérdést: Miért Párizs volt a színhelye a végzetes tárgyalásoknak?

A válasz nagyon egyszerű: — Párizsban székelt a Grand Orient nagypáholy, amelyet a világszabadkőművesség látható központjának is lehetett tekinteni.

A tárgyalások vezéralakja Clemenceau, miként I erről Francesco Nitti belszámol: — a tárgyalások leélj a nem a béketeremtés ■volt. Clemenceau ó francia Ikamara ülésén kijelentette, ■hogy a békeszerződés is I egyik módja a háború wfolytatásának.

I Igazat mondott, mert e ■jelenlegi és látszólagos I „békevilágban” a háború I pusztítóbb mintha aztfegy- I verekkel vívnák, és a béke I sohasem volt olyan távol, I mint most. Csak egy kis I szikra hiányzik még egye- I lőre...
