This may possibly be in accord­ance with the proportion of the population of Western Hungary to that of post-war Hungary. I do not think we ought to go any further into the question of the exchange of banknotes, because, the less favourable the rate of exchange which Austria gives for Hungarian banknotes to the newly-annexed population, the less satisfied the latter will be with the new régime, which it is not in our interest to prevent. Finally I would ask if it is not possible to discuss all the ques­tions pending between Austria and Hungary after the decision of the Committee expected on Saturday, when and how we envis­age the resumption of negotiations for the division of common properties, which have hitherto produced no result. 1 No. 761. 420/M.K.res.
