IO 1919 No. 3 (a) ad 2846/pol. Enclosure I to preceding communication [TRANSLATION] BUDAPEST, August 14, 1919. To the Hungarian Ministry for Interior and Public Instruction at Budapest. The bearer of this open order is empowered by the undersigned commission to enter the central offices of the Hungarian Ministry of Interior and Public Instruction and the offices of any of the instutions subordinated to the above named Ministries, viz: the National Record-Office, the National Museum, the University Library and other institutions connected with or subordinated to the aforesaid Ministries. The said plenipotentiary is empowered to carefully inspect every movable or immovable object included in the inventory of any of the above named institutions. The Head of the said Ministry and the chief officers of the above named institutions are herewith requested to put at the disposal of our plenipotentiary, bearer of this order, all information and all objects contained in their inventories, in order to enable him to list the same. In case of active or passive resistance our plenipotentiary is authorized to invoke military assistance in order for him to accomplish his mission. The bearer of this order is empowered by the undersigned commission to enter the central offices of the Hungarian Ministry of Finance and offices of any of the bureaus and institutions subordinated to that Ministry for the following purposes: to take away from the Government Printing Office all documents and books relating to the territory subject to the jurisdiction No. 3(b) ad 2846/pol.
