IO 1919 to the Hungarian people. We pointed out in this note that only the Government at Szeged and the Hungarians on territories controlled by this Government can freely express their opinion. We again communicated our problems to the Principal Allied Powers and asked their moral support for their solution. July 31. Representations were made on behalf of the Hungarian nationals arrested without good reason by the Serbs at Kanizsa. 1 August I. Representations were made on behalf of the Hungarian soldiers interned in Rumania. The Minister for Foreign Affairs ordered the preparation of documents concerning relations with Rumania, Serbia and France and concerning bolshevism, to be submitted to the Peace Conference. August 3. Upon the suggestion of the Government, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs issued a letter of recommendation for Mr. John Bartos, former member of Parliament, who is going to Czechoslovakia. The Rumanian Minister Maniu requested that a Hungarian representative be sent to Nagyszeben to engage in economic negotiations. The Minister for Foreign Affairs appointed for this purpose Count Woracziczky, secretary of Legation. August 4. The Government sent a note of protest to the Principal Allied Powers concerning the Government of Julius Peidl. It was pointed out in the note that the new government is in essence a continuation of the preceding bolshevik government. Notes were dispatched in an effort to preserve the property of Hungarian officers of Szabadka and to obtain the release of Hungarian officers imprisoned by the Rumanians. 1 Recte : Törökkanizsa.
