Résumé Political Transformation in the Post-Mubarak Egypt The study investigates the political processes of a year, starting from the fall of President Mubarak in February 2011. First of all it deals with the constitutional framework of this transitional period. Besides the constitutional amendments approved by referendum, it analyzes the constitutional declaration, which was proclaimed at the end of March by the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, the highest authority in the country. In connection with this topic, the study also refers to the so-called supra constitutional principles, a draft supported by the military council. Its aim was to determine the composition of the future constitutional assembly and ensure the interests of the army in a new constitution. The study investigates the changes in the balance of political power, the relationship of the military council and the Muslim Brotherhood, and the causes of continuing political violence. It outlines the formation of the electoral law draft, whose final version was issued in September, and the programs of the main political parties. The study evaluates the consequences of the landside victories of the Islamist parties on the elections for lower and upper houses of Parliament. The final conclusion of the study is, that the introduction of a half-presidential system would be a stabilizing factor on the short run. On the long run there may develop an Islamist political model which differs from the present-day Iranian and Turkish governing systems. 2012. tavasz 165
