Résumé The Security Dimension of Turkey's EU-accession The paper examines the question of Turkish accession to the European Union. Since the problem gained actuality at the end of 2004, scholars have contributed to several aspects of this topic. Although there are missing niches in the examination that we want to fill with this paper. The new aspect of our paper is highlighting the question of the Turkish accession from the point of view of security policy. Traditionally scholars base their works about the integration process on neofunctionalist theories. In contrast, our theoretical framework is the well-known sector theory, developed by the "Copenhagen school". The authors, e.g. Barry Buzan and Richard Little categorized the threats that states have to face into five different sectors: traditional military, political, economic, societal and environmental security sectors. According to these scholars the acts of the states, when standing against external security threats can be summarized within the frame of these sectors. 2007. tél 41
