My dear Monsieur de Barcza, You must forgive me for not having replied before to your letter of September 29th regarding the claim of the Hungarian Government. You will have read since of the egreement reached between the German, United Kingdom, French and Italian Governments on that date at Munich and you will have noted the terms of the annex thereto relating to the question of Polish and Hungarian minorities in Czechoslovakia. From this it will be plain to your Government that, unless they have come to an agreement on the subject with the Czechoslovak Government within three months, the matter will form the subject of another meeting of the Heads of the Governments of the four Powers present at Munich. May I add the personal hope, which I feel sure the Prime Minister shares, that your Government and the Czechoslovak Government will achieve a peaceful settlement of the matter within the specified time?
