Catholic population in the United States has reached 44,- 874,371, including all Catholics in the armed forces both at home and abroad, and in the diplomatic and other services abroad. Among the archdioceses of the nation Chicago continues as largest with a Catholic population of 2,317,700. Brooklyn is still the largest diocese with a population of 1,576,073. Other dioceses reporting larger populations than Trenton are Pittsburgh, 910,655; Buffalo, 897,203; Cleveland, 853,148, and Rockville Centre, 770,112. The Diocese of Trenton reported a total of 18,614 baptisms during the year, including 809 converts. The others were infant Baptisms. The faithful of the diocese are served by a total of 455 priests, including 342 diocesan priests and 113 religious. Adjustments in Postal Services Announced by Postmaster General Grant to Seton Hall From Bristol-Myers SOUTH ORANGE — Seton Hall University has received an unrestricted grant on behalf of the employes of the Hillside division of Bristol-Myers Products Division. The check was presented to Robert P. Reilly, director of development at Seton Hall, by Orlin Johnson, vice president of the firm. PERILLI Postmaster General John A, Gronouski announced in Washington on March 10, limited adjustments in some postal services to save $12.7 million, and these adjustments will begin to take effect in Trenton and all other cities on May 4, 1964, Trenton Postmaster John Dawson said today. Service changes planned locally include the following: Parcel Post Delivery service will be provided on a 5-day week basis as a general rule. Special delivery parcels will continue to be delivered in accordance with present policy and schedules. Window Services: Saturday window services will be reduced; the services offered will be limited to stamp sales, acceptance of parcel post, C.O.D., registry and general relivery services. No domestic or international money orders will be issued on Saturdays and all money order windows will be closed. Front Street will be closed all day on Saturdays. The Postmaster emphasized that no essential major services are affected under the orders. There will be no change in home delivery or special delivery, for example. Regular business mail deliveries will continue as usual. Letters and other first-class mail will be handled with the same priority as ever. The economy step, the Postmaster explained, is in line with President Johnson’s programs, under which the recent Federal Income Tax cut was provided.
