TO; HUNGARIANS-INTERNATIONAL SECTION Dear Friend; It is my pleasure to inform you that the "Hungarians—International Section" of International Technology Institute has been established. The Institute is a nonprofit international technical society and is the operating arm of International Technology Foundation. The purposes of ITI are to recognize, encourage, sponsor and participate in the transfer and exchange of technology throughout the world, across academic, governmental, technical, society and industry lines in any field. Current activities of the Institute include the organization of the International Congress on Technology and Technology Exchange (ICTTE), to be held in the new Pittsburgh Convention Center, May 3-6, 1982. The Congress will be held concurrently with TECHNOMART '82, a most significant exhibition of technology and technology-related products and services. This Congress is cosponsored by the 101-year-old Engineers' Society of Western Pennsylvania, which has 57 other technical societies as members, and the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration. The Congress is already destined for success. The Institute is now recognized all over the world. It should be noted that the founder (1976) of the Institute is a Hungarian-American, Dr.István Tuba, who is current President of the Institute. Several other prominent Hungarian-A meric ans, Canadians, British, etc. are involved in leadership roles. Members of the Institute are also spearheading plans for a worldwide "HALL OF FAME for Engineering, Science and Technology." An international commission will be formed during the Congress for this study. If you are an engineer, scientist, technologist or businessman with related products, you are invited to join us as a Member. If you are not, you can join us as an Associate Member — or help us without joining. Please send us the names and addresses of Hungarian technical people you know anywhere in the world, or just copy this letter and pass it on to them. This is the first opportunity we have had to band together into a significant organization of worldwide reputation, while atthe same time having all the advantages of involvement in the mainstream (national, international) of our relative professions. The Arabs do it, the Chinese do it, the Israelis do it — why not the Hungarians! Membership fee ($30/year) or contributions to the International Technology Foundation are tax deductible. If you are interested, or have any comments or questions, please write to us. We hope to see you next May in Pittsburgh. — István Zentai, Chairman, Hungarians- International Section, International Technology Institute, 7125 Saltsburg Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15235, USA.
