If one sincerely believes in the constructive worth of what he is trying to do, and above and beyond considerations of personal profit and self-aggrandizement, then go all the way or not at all . . . win, lose, or draw! This is precisely what we did! This is the second issue of the HUNGARIAN HERITAGE REVIEW printed in our own shop (seepage 44)! And, now that we are close to completing the setting up for production, we should be able from now on to remain on schedule. With this big move, we not only resolved our three-yearlong problem of how to keep on subsidizing an imbalance between rising production and operational costs and gross income, but, by bringing this into balance, we also made the publication self-sustaining. Our costs now equal our gross income. Consequently, we also have a chance now to start promoting our publication’s growth. This does not mean, however, that we are now completely “out-of-the-woods”. We still have to raise enough capital with which to purchase several pieces of additional high-speed equipment, adequate levels of paper stock, etc. This, we hope to be able to do with ongoing help of contributions to our “HHR BENEFIT FUND”, renewal payments, increasing the amount of job orders coming into the shop, and by offering a limited number of private investors an opportunity to purchase shares of stock in “PRINTCRAFTERS, INC.” at $100.00 per share and, for which, we have reserved 500 shares of capital stock. These are to be issued under favorable terms and conditions. Yes! This was a very big step for us to take. But, after agonizing over its “pros-and-cons”, and with the HHR constantly in mind, we took it. And, we are sure that it was the right move to make. So, having been “in for a penny”, as it were, we are now “in for the pound!” Paul Pulitzer Executive Editor - Publisher FEBRUARY 1990 HUNGARIAN HERITAGE REVIEW 1
