I1 announced this non-prof it organization’s sponsorship of the establishment of the HUNGARIAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF AM ERI CA in connection with RUTGERS - THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW JERSEY, and its linkage with the HUNGARIAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF CANADA at the University of Toronto. One of the purposes of the HU N G ARI AN RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF AMERICA is to help provide financial and promotional support for the more than three year-old, Hungarian Studies Program at Rutgers University under the direction of Dr. William W. Derbyshire and, by means of launching and promoting a nationwide fund-raising campaign on behalf of the already established, HUNGARIAN STUDIES ENDOWMENT FUND, to help upgrade this successful program into an accredited CHAIR OF HUNGARIAN STUDIES. The receipts from this fund-raising campaign will be administered by the RUTGERS UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION. The goal of this f und-raising campaign, over the next three-year period, is $500,000. Here, then, is a Hungarian "cause" meriting your immediate consideration and support. For, when the CHAIR OF HUNGARIAN STUDIES at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, will be established, it will be an ever-lasting, "living memorial" to the H ungarian community in America. To contribute, make your TAX -DE DU CT IBLE check or money order payable to the HU N G ARI AN STUDIES ENDOWMENT FUND and mail to the: HUNGARIAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF AMERICA, % P.O. Box 2203, Union, New Jersey 07083. The names of all contributors, regardless of the dollar amount contributed, will be published in the "Hungarian Heritage Review" and each will receive a Certificate in acknowledgement.
