The KODÁLY ENSEMBLE, HUNGARIAN DANCE THEATER will tour the United States for the first time during the 1988/1989 theater season. The KODÁLY ENSEMBLE is a new star among East European Dance Companies. Each of the Ensemble’s performances has earned the most favorable critical acclaim. A KODÁLY performance is a sensational theatrical event. Information available will give you more details about the KODÁLY ENSEMBLE. In this letter we wish to point out why we believe this initial visit of the Ensemble will be a worthwhile and rewarding project for any Presenter: 1. The Ensemble’s performance provides a unique theatrical experience. 2. The overseas travel for the Ensemble will be subsidized by a private foundation, therefore we are able to make the Ensemble available to you at a reasonable rate. 3. The complete Ensemble includes only twenty members (12 dancers, 5 musicians, a singer, a technician and a manager). This assures easy mobility and low travel costs. However, the Ensemble’s powerful performance remains enjoyable even for large audiences. We hope you will be able to capitalize on the opportunity of presenting the KODÁLY ENSEMBLE in your area. We are certain that you will join thousands of others on the European continent in celebrating the Ensemble’s artistic performance. If you need more information please call us at (201) 836-4869 or (914) 268-4118. We will contact you in a few days to learn of your interest and to discuss a possible preferred date for a performance during October or November of 1988. Sincerely, Project Consultant Tel: (914) 268-4118 Sándor Sallai Executive Manager Tel: (201) 836-4869 6 HUNGARIAN HERITAGE REVIEW JANUARY 1988
