In his contribution he expounded the peace-work tóid standpoint of the Chinese Protestant Churches, ":1c Chinese Christians think - he said among others - that one has to find the source and cause of the Tar. Tar is not in the air but feeds on a certain source. In the past hundred years we experienced that the word "war" meant imperialism.. The Chinese people are fond of peace and therefore the Chinese Christians partake in the peace-movement. n The conference was ended with Bishpp D. On January the 3rd the Lutheran Church's Committee of the Hungarian Peace Council held a meeting» On the meeting Dr-. András Koken, the Lianaging-. as­­tor of the Crmmittoc submitted his account of work in 1957, he presented the work­­plan far 1958 either’. The accounts were discussed lively and a lot of people took the floor. On the meeting János Hantos,, General kecretary of the Hungarian Peace Council was also present. Then the session delivered a call to the pastors of the congregations to work for the sake of the peoples’ peace with loyalty in their pastoral work. It called the lerders, members , organs and institutions of the churches abroad to do their utmost an making peace knowing well to be responsible to God for it. It urged the Hungsyian people to contribute to the peaceful development of our mother­land with honest and loyal work for a bigger piece of breadt a quieter life and the realization of a higher culture. At the end it called the leaders of the na­tions to 3erve not for the decay but for the progress, not for the death but for the life, rot for- the war but for the peace, with responsibility to God, ■* * * * It was manifest the aclcnawledging of the churches’ peace-service by the Presidial Council of the Hungarian Peeples Republic in the decorations by which several leaders and pastors of the churches jfenp rewarded. 1st.ái Dobi, President of the Presidial Council handed over the decorations in the building of the Parliament on December the 30th 1957. In the Lutheran church Bishop D. Dr, Lajos Vető and Senior Idám Hokis were decorated.
