HCHP 1.15,-11.1,1958, Vol.X/l-2- 24 -24 BISHOP PETER’S FAREWELL PRAYER After the announcement of the resolution, Bishop János Péter in his f arewell-p ray er, thanked for God’s love manifesting Himself in Jesus Christ and in His Word, presenting His decision to His church and inducing her to determination, and for the Ward sounding again and over again on divine services to come for the always new jcry of understanding God, for the future decision of the church in which God’s redeeming love again and over again becomes visible. He was praying for the next period of the church’s life, for the men trained by God for the service who are aware of the way and therefore they guide. "Have mercy on us - said then the Bishop in his prayer - and make Thy people submissive to Thee in the place of repentance. Help them to practise the love showed against Thee in the love towards men in order to sacrify their lives for others for the joy of repentance. Do teach us serving always in Thy presence.- May our service be powerful help on building up a new way. Teach us holy solidarity for peoples’ collectivity to live through the pains of the tension together with all the peoples and our witness should confound the abominable people, those fanning up jeopardies, the enemies of peoples’ peace and liberty. Je bless Thee having kept our people in the community, in that community of the peoples, where the rise of periods to come is on. ' Je thank Thee for having maintained our people’s life on the price of awful pams and averted the even greater perils, and done mercy to us in the judged time of decadence. We bear in our minds, oh Lord, those brethren who are especially united to this congregation with strong ties: our brother Ting, the 1'etropolitain Nikolajt the Professors HromAdka and Karl Barth. Te thank Thee for the way-showing, witnessing power of their lives, for having backed us in the time when it was difficult to do so. Do, oh Lord, our love toward them increase and make them always find .their joy in that eithor. Bless our relation which differs in character from the previous one, bless it and make it fruitful. The benediction on my life expressed in the resolution of the church district may be a living one and powerful by Thee, oh Lord. We thank, oh Lord, to have visited us, and ask Thee to make our ears opened, and our hearts apt to recognize Thy redeeming visits to come of Thy mercy" - ended his farewell-prayer Bishop Péter.
