It renders thanks to God for our bishop's servi.ee which was alleviat­ing the frictions emerging of the formation of the social order and healing the human wounds in the pastors and in the service of our church, he are thankful to our Lord for the grace to have kept him in the ecumenical work for years in the way that this sort of activity through his person end services hrd attracted not only attention in the churches of the JScumene end on its meetings but appreciation as well. Further we thank God that he was able to prostrate himself in the pres­ence of God in the ardous path of the services and supplicate for encouraging force coming from above. Our Church District sees the favourable symptom of God’s saving fidel­ity in the human obedience and in the holy service that our bishop judging his function had placed it at the disposal of the church district, Rut in all he hod e: arained himself,we are, her.’/ever, still therein all of us under proof. We are all called to account by our Lord both in the life of our church and the district for all we had committed against God’s business in the course of the elapsed thirteen months and the half, huch kind of endeavours hau commenced in our church which spoiled the good we had received from God and increased the evil which shadowed the life of our church and loosened the ties of love in the servants of our church«­­T/e stand in contrition in the presence of our Lord and make amends to His servant, our bishop, firm in love, We beg him to forgive his debtors. We try to go together with hin on the path which the divine mercy as­sented to our church and what could not be destroyed totally by human perfidy. The Rayah seniors’-curators’ meeting, the long series of the June pastors’ conferences, the November declaration of the Theological Academy and the long series of the Boards of Elders tried to bear witness of that "path". The decision of the General Assembly was forwarded to Bishop János Péter by István Gaál, Deputy Bishop and Mr. Feionc Erdei, Lay Curator General on December the 19th. Bishop Péter made his appearance rn the second day of the meet­ing on December the 20th and in a speech lasting -bout two hcrirs and a half he examined the church events of the past 13 months, criticized the counter-revolu­tionary activities deveiopped in the church, and spoke of the inner motives on the basis of which lie asked the general assembly to exonerate him of his function. After the bishop’s giving up the presidium interrupting the meeting called the seniors and curators of the seniorates to a conference, 3ubsequent to the confer­ence the Gene red Assembly took counsel together again, nr.d accepting Bishop János
