Hungarian^Church Press MINISTERS’ POSO&RADUATE- TRAINING COURSES The May session of the General OcrrrenbuB passed a •resolution concerning the postgraduate training of Reformed ministers. Acting on the proposal of the National Oonforenoe. of Theologioal Professor«,..the General Conventus charged the theological faculties with the task of organising permanent training courses, each lasting six to twelve months, for ministers who would reside, during the courses, in the theo­logical seminaries.- The aim of these courses is to refresh theological learning, to familiarize pastors with the latest results of theological research and to strengthen the ties between the aem-inaxie-s and the congregations. LUTHER .AN NEWS On May 31, the new Director of the Ministers' Training home in Sopron, Emeiy Veoreb's, was installed into his office. The Training Home operates- in conjunction with the Theological Department of the Pécs University in Sopron. While the Theo­logical Department in Sopron belongs to a state University., the Ministers’ Training Home is a churoh institution. Rev. Emery Veöreös is the Editor of two Lutheran church papers, the "Uj-Harangszo" and the "Lelkipásztor". The installation ' 'ceremony was performed by Bishop Zoltán Turóczy, The Presidium of the Montana Synod has ordered an election to fill the Bishop’.s office- which has now become * vacant. The seniors and inspectors of the presbyteries have unanimously reJ>omnu»vdi>d Ladislaus Dezséry, pastor of ^the Óbuda Churoh, editor of "'the fortnightly Evangélikus Élet, for the Bishop’s office. The'election meetings of the congregations will be held before May 24. The votes - by secret ballot - will be counted on June 6. • . Jt is now twenty years "that the "Hungarian Bethel", a home of the Lutheran Church for, epileptics, was established in Budakeszi. The institution has since ministered to the noede of bodily and mental defectives without regard to their de­nominational affiliation. More than five hundred children have been so far cared for in this home. There arc thirty­­one charges at present, twenty-eight boys and three men. The hoys are committed , to the home and paid fer by tho children^ welfare agency of the state. The institution.is now celeb­rating its twentieth onniveraaiy. *
